How to elicit single word speech material

Ensure the parents do not interfere with the childs production.

Naming should be used in the first instance. If this fails semantic prompting should be used. Finally if all else fails, the child should repeat the word. (No phonetic prompting should be used).

The examiner should repeat the target word after the child in order to identify the words.
