Ideally, data collection should not be restricted to single words. The inclusion of carefully constructed sentence material permits the assessment of target consonants in different word positions. An example are the GOS.SP.ASS. sentences (Sell, Harding, Grunwell 1998) used for English.
They are presented verbally for imitation. Pictures can be used to facilitate sentence imitation. A full set of colour pictures is available (Sell, Harding, Grunwell, Razzell, Harland 1997) for the GOS.SP.ASS sentences.
